Last Sunday, August 10, 2008, I was waken (awoken?) and it was Pastor Tom on the phone and he said that Jimmy was out due to shoulder surgery and he asked if I would fill in. I was literally still half…no 3 quarters asleep, haha, so I happily agreed. Now, I have several hymnals and I have the pulpit (minister) editions as well and I thought I wouldn’t get to use them anytime…or at all. Well, they came into good use!
Once I got to church we covered the logistics of how the service was going to run and I also had to think of the special music on the spot so that was cool. The tense part was that like 5 minutes before the service, the pianist had to leave b/c her mother had gotten dizzy and passed out needing to go to the hospital (she’s fine now, don’t worry). So that put SUPER tension on me and for a moment I was thinking, “Am I gonna lead or play…or both?!” Well, needless to say the fill-in organist played piano, I led, and we did without the organ and it was all great. All in all, I enjoyed it VERY much, the smaller environment, unlike the larger one back @ Jefferson Avenue, was just right, I was nervous in the beginning and slightly throughout but not nearly as much as I thought I would be. So I wouldn’t mind doing it again and as a career like I wanted in the first place back in school!
So anyway To cover the part about “truck” in the title, I don’t know if the edition of my truck was suppose to or not suppose to come with default mirrors or if they were added/changed later on, but checkout the link below on my site to see the mirrors I have, the mirrors I want, and the mirrors I’m gonna go hopefully pickup and install tomorrow, 8/14/08.
Other notes of interest:
I’m thinking of going to Penn Foster for a certificate or degree. IDK yet, I think my plan is to pay off my tv, surround sound, and whatever else I’ve got that can be paid off short-term.
I didn’t get a pay increase from last october b/c I missed the mark by a few days and was promoted after the time that pay was increased so I got stuck w/ lower pay 😦 However, I got this years increase so that’s better. I STILL don’t have full passion back for LifeWay and I still don’t know what path God wants me to go down, either.
That’s it for now,
Andrew
